The Library is a public service facility of Kunstuniversität Linz, whose services are availablet free of charge. It is the mission of the library team to establish the Library as an attractive place of communication, study and work. The following devices are made available at the moment: 2 online catalogue research points, a spacious reading and working desk, 3 computer-workplaces, all linked to an A3 scanner and one black-and-white as well as one colour printer, copying and reproduction tools as well as several comfortable reading zones.
The collection policy of the Library strongly reflects the curricula offered by the University and focuses on artistic and cultural production in the 20th and 21st century. Fine arts, applied arts, media art, industrial design, architecture, media theory, art history, cultural studies, gender studies as well as art education and communication are major focuses for all new acquisitions. A comprehensive range of current journal titles (approx. 200 at the time of writing) available in the reading room allows an informed overview of new trends in contemporary artistic and cultural production. In addition, a selection of national and international dailies and weeklies as well as lifestyle magazines provides entertainment and up-to-date information.
In order to use the services of the University Library, you only have to register as a user at the Library. Therefor, you need to bring along a valid photo ID and your current residence registration form (for minors: parents have to sign the registration form). You will then be issued a personal library card. Students and staff use their UfG-card as library card.
Monday to Fridays:
9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
The first Monday of the month, the University Library opens at 10 a.m. The opening hours during the holiday periods are announced on the homepage and on the notice board.
