The building is an art center to remind of the history of the place, resistance and deportation during the Second World War. The building is located in a dense urban environment. It consists of a linear band which one can enter from each end. A way for pedestrians, from which people can enter all the rooms, goes from one end to the other. The main area with the surface of 100 m² and a double level allows the conference reception, exhibition where performance. The mezzanine floor, with a size of 60 m², is more likely for resting or to have some small group discussions. The stairs outside are the foundation for the well-being or for night projections during the evenings. The Gazebo offers an exceptional view of the site after having visited the exhibition presented in the long galleries. Usage
The architectural design is built around a course where all attention is given to the user. One can travel through the different rooms, one after the other, to discover new ambiences. The whole body is biased, perception with viewpoint on the environment, movement with horizontal and vertical transitions up the spirit in the information taken from the exhibition. Matériau
The usage of containers seems to be appropriate for making a temporary architectural project like this. Produced for industrial usage in transporting goods, its recycling concerning construction makes it an ecological and economical building. It has a standard size of about 2.6m height and 2.4 m width and it is available in 4 lengths: 3 m (7 m²), 6 m (14 m²), 9 m (21 m²) and 12 m (28 m²). Its factory prefabrication provides a cleaner and faster building site. Structure
The container is a dimensionally stable box. Its skeleton consists of assembled steel bars welded together at both ends and a thin folded sheet steel for the braced together. The distribution of the material in fact a light material and Resistance fighter, the only ones of the partial foundations are necessary. No structural reinforcement is required for simple stacking rationed use of low-rise container.
