Incoming Students / Bilateral Agreement

University of Art and Design Linz has exchange agreements under the Erasmus-programme and bilateral agreements with institutions outside Europe.

Deadline of Applications

1st of May  for the following winterterm (beginning of October to the end of January)
1st of November for the following summerterm (beginning of March to the end of June) 

Students applying for an exchange at KUNI Linz should have completedat least two years of study before applying for an students exchange.

Students who are nominated by a partner university of Kunstuniversity Linz can apply for an exchange place.

It is very important that exchange students have a hig level of proficiency in either German or English.
Please note that most classes at KUNI Linz are held in German language. We offer German classes to our international students during the semester. Some classes are held in English, and is it also possible to meet teachers for individual meetings in English.  

We invite our exchange students to orientation day/s in the beginning of each semester. The students will receive an inviation by email in time.

Our Department Industrial Design scionic® (Bachelors and Masters degree-programme) will accept incoming exchange-students only during summerterms (beginning of March to the end June).

Fashion Design & Technology (Bachelor Programme)    
In 2016/17 we can accept students from our partner schools for an exchange in our fashion design degree programm only in their 3rd semester and only in autumn term 2016! A choose of courses of other levels is not possible! The bachelor students of FAT of Kuni Linz can choose an internship/work placement during their 4th semester (summer term).

  • curriculum vitae
  • letter of motivation

    We accept only application documents with confirmed application forms by your international office!


Application Process

Our vice rector for international issues will start reviewing applications about 2 weeks after deadline of application. Acceptances depending on portfolio quality and study places availability in each department or specialization - Decision is based on portfolio!

Students and their coordinators will receive the decision by email within 6 weeks after deadline Letters of acceptance follow by postmailing.
