The curriculum is conceived to train the “novelty development process” through concrete design projects by means of an integrated, virtual process chain. As a first stage, fundamental knowledge – visualisation techniques, (virtual) modelling, computer prototyping and rapid prototyping processes – is taught and then applied and verified at an in-depth level.Key elements include contexts of philosophy of science, bionics, ergonomics as well as process and manufacturing technologies. Wide leeway in their choice of electives enables students to set individual focuses.Co-operation projects with enterprises and universities allow for practice-oriented application of the subject-matter taught.
