smart material – smart construction: TranStiX is made of 100% re-usable materials. all components are originally used on construction sites where it can be returned afterwards. the construction is made of standardized scaffolding systems. distances up to 35meter can be bridged over by virendeel-like-bridges. The white fabric which surrounds the three stick is permeable to light, while providing shade it creates a pleasant atmosphere inside of TranStix.
light – spectacle: after a calm and serious aura during the hot summer days in venice TranStiX turns into a color spectacle at night. each tube glows in another primary color. in the heart a fusion of all colors of the world begin to glow. it brightens up the area and enriches the nightlife of venice.for special occasions the straight bright facade turn into a huge screen where any other kind of projections can be shown. This student work was designed during the semester programme project Venezia - Città Immaginarie.

How Transtix came into Existance
initial situation: everybody who's ever been in venice know piazzale roma as well as the overwhelming feeling of being in a fix!instead of a representative door into the city, piazzale roma tries to combine being everything at the same time: a bus terminal, a parking-lot, the place of arrival for tourists using the ‚people mover‘, a attractive souvenir-market, restaurant-area, vaporetto station and so forth... consequent invention invention: TranStiX is a platform made of three tubes which are connected in the middle. It offers a clearly organized upper level to the piazzale roma, for pedestrian only. you enter directly at the people-mover-station or the parking-garage. from here you FIRST take an overview allover amazing Venice, up to the arsenale. SECOND you can take a break, relax, sit sleep and eat at the heart of TranStix, where the three stick cross.
