Studierende der raum&designstrategien nutzen Freihandzeichnungen als eine Form der Kunstpräsentation.
Every day our hands leave traces on toothbrushes, cups, cutlery and shoelaces; the act of sitting produces a trace in the seat of bedrooms, buses, schools, boardrooms and restaurants. Vision, sound, emotion and behavior all form individual traces in the surrounding space.
We shape the outside world and vice versa.
The traces are fleeting as the next occurrence immediately erases the existence of this process, and these non-repeatable cycles constitute the day-to-day life.
As a group of space&designSTRATEGIES researchers, in the short-term, we chose highly individual freehand drawings as a form of art presentation, using imitation and continuous sketching to timely recognize and capture these trivial daily traces. In the end we present them as a 32-day diary sketch book, in order to review the "established" and "accidental" within daily life.
Our drawings present known static traces on the paper, just as dancers would use their bodies to interpret unknown dynamic traces in space. Interestingly, drawing and dancing all need to be practiced.Although interesting life does not only come from practice, the process of continuous practicing may be already a unique Daily Trace.
